Professional Quantity Surveyor (PrQS) – Mining, Engineering & Infrastructure
Overview
A specialist professional consulting practice serving the mining, engineering and infrastructure sectors is seeking an experienced Professionally Registered Quantity Surveyor (PrQS) to join its team in Kempton Park. This opportunity is suited to a technically strong, commercially astute Quantity Surveyor who can operate independently, manage a team, work confidently with senior engineers and management, and consistently deliver accurate commercial and technical outcomes.
Requirements
- 8–14 years of relevant professional Quantity Surveying experience
- Valid Professional Quantity Surveyor (PrQS) registration with the applicable professional council
- Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification
- Substantial experience within a professional consulting environment
- Strong exposure to mining, engineering and infrastructure projects
- Proven experience in cost planning, capital estimating, tender preparation and evaluation
- Practical experience in project cost control, reporting, progress valuations, payment certificates, variations and final accounts
- Demonstrated experience managing projects from pre-feasibility or concept through to completion
- Proven management experience, including responsibility for other Quantity Surveying personnel
- Advanced practical competence in WinQS, DimX and Microsoft Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work full-time from the Kempton Park office
- Willingness to travel to project sites and stay overnight when required
Responsibilities
- Provide professional Quantity Surveying services across mining, engineering and infrastructure projects
- Manage projects from pre-feasibility and concept development through to completion
- Undertake cost planning and capital estimating
- Prepare, review and evaluate tenders
- Manage project cost control, financial reporting and commercial administration
- Prepare and review progress valuations and payment certificates
- Manage variations, commercial matters and final accounts
- Provide accurate cost information, analysis and reporting to support project decisions
- Work closely with engineers, clients, management and other project stakeholders
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness and timely delivery of all project deliverables
