Site Quantity Surveyor (Roads Construction) - Construction Industry
Overview
RPO Recruitment’s client, a well-established civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Site Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the commercial and quantity surveying functions on civil infrastructure projects for a period of 24 months.
Requirements
- National Diploma in Building/Civil Engineering, BTech in Quantity Surveying, or a related qualification
- 5+ years’ experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
- Proven experience on roads and civil infrastructure projects
- Previous experience working for a civil engineering contractor
- Sound understanding of construction contracts, including FIDIC, NEC and GCC
- Strong knowledge of commercial administration, measurement and valuation
- Proficiency in relevant QS/commercial software will be advantageous
Responsibilities
- Manage all site-based QS and commercial functions
- Measure and value earthworks, layerworks, drainage and roadworks
- Prepare valuations and payment certificates
- Monitor project costs, budgets and cash flow
- Manage variations, claims and contractual correspondence
- Administer subcontractor payments and accounts
- Assist with procurement and cost control
- Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks
