Project Planner
Overview
Exxaro Resources is looking for a skilled Project Planner to join our team at Grootegeluk Coal in Lephalale, Limpopo. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and mentor planning professionals while ensuring mining projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will manage project schedules, monitor progress, perform critical path and earned value analyses, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
Requirements
- National Diploma in a relevant field (Essential/Minimum)
- Certificate First Line Management (Recommended/Desirable)
- Certificate Project Management (Recommended/Desirable)
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in project planning within the mining or heavy industry sector
- Proficiency in project management software such as MS Projects or Primavera
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent analytical skills for conducting critical path and earned value analyses
- Effective communication and teamwork capabilities
- Competence in MS Office Suite relevant packages (Essential/Minimum)
- Valid Public Driving License, Code B (Essential/Minimum)
- Ability to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)
- Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
Responsibilities
- Mentor and coach planning professionals
- Monitor and track progress of project plans
- Maintain up-to-date project programmes and provide regular progress reports
- Support compliance with company governance and safety policies
- Coordinate with operational personnel to align project schedules
- Ensure document control and adherence to Enterprise Project Management standards
- Participate in the evaluation and continuous improvement of project planning standards
- Provide technical support for capital cost planning and schedule validation
- Drive functional excellence by standardizing and simplifying processes
- Represent the company in meetings with clients and stakeholders
