Overview
The Protection Services Reaction Officer will manage the site in the absence of the Protection Services Reaction Supervisor, monitor security operations, respond to incidents, and ensure the protection of company property, assets, and people.
Requirements
- Grade 12/NQF Level 4
- PSIRA Grade A Certificate
- Firearm Competency Certificate
- At least five years’ experience in the security industry
- Computer literacy
- Experience managing a control room and CCTV monitoring
- A valid driver’s licence
- Medically fit to perform the duties associated with the position
Responsibilities
- Providing specialised operational support during intelligence-driven operations
- Stabilising serious crime incidents
- Combating public violence
- Assisting with Public Order Policing events
- Directing and monitoring crime operations and projects
- Supporting efforts to combat serious and violent crime
- Managing the smooth day-to-day running of the relevant unit
- Ensuring checks and balances are in place for product movement
- Monitoring products while in transit
- Ensuring compliance with the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights
- Maintaining good housekeeping at security posts
- Ensuring compliance with access control procedures
- Responding physically to security-related incidents
- Protecting classified, proprietary and sensitive information
- Performing duties as a Drone Operator
- Keeping records of drone operations and submitting reports
- Safekeeping and maintaining drone equipment
- Reviewing CCTV footage and conducting investigations
- Performing general administrative duties and other tasks assigned by management
- Responding to after-hours security and safety incidents
- Providing immediate reports to the Operations Lead after incidents
- Preparing and servicing drone equipment every second Sunday
