Overview
The Senior IT Field Technician will be responsible for supporting clients across different IT environments, both onsite and remotely. The role involves diagnosing technical problems, maintaining critical infrastructure, and ensuring clients receive reliable, professional service.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of proven experience as a Desktop Support Technician, Technical Support Engineer or in a similar IT support role.
- Hands-on experience with technologies such as UniFi, fibre solutions, MFPs, servers, Hyper-V, Synology, VoIP, Microsoft 365 and Azure.
- Experience providing remote technical support and giving clear instructions to users.
- Strong problem-solving and multitasking skills.
- A valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
- Relevant IT certifications in Microsoft, UniFi, Azure or related technologies will be an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Providing onsite and remote IT support to clients.
- Installing, configuring and troubleshooting UniFi networks and fibre-to-the-home or business solutions.
- Installing and supporting printers, computer hardware and other authorised peripheral equipment.
- Diagnosing and resolving software, hardware and network-related issues.
- Supporting and administering physical servers and Hyper-V virtualised environments.
- Managing and monitoring Synology NAS devices and Backup for Business solutions.
- Deploying, configuring and supporting VoIP systems, including Yeastar P-Series, S-Series and YCM Cloud PBX platforms.
- Administering Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange, Teams, SharePoint and security policies.
- Providing support for Microsoft Azure environments, including security and application management.
- Performing proactive maintenance, patching, monitoring and troubleshooting of client infrastructure.
- Documenting work accurately and clearly.
- Explaining technical issues to clients in a way that is easy to understand.
- Maintaining a high standard of customer service and client satisfaction.
