Overview
RPO Recruitment is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Cape Town team for a well-established Building & Civil Contractor on one of their latest projects. The role involves preparing and managing project budgets, monitoring costs, and ensuring effective cost control during the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- National Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 10 years' Quantity Surveying experience within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of project cost control, commercial management and subcontractor administration
- Experience with valuations, variation orders, payment certificates and final accounts
- Valid driver's licence (essential)
- Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills
Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage project budgets and cost reports
- Monitor project costs and ensure effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle
- Prepare interim valuations, payment certificates and final accounts
- Manage subcontractor procurement, adjudication, appointments and payment certificates
- Price and manage variation orders and contract claims
- Assist with forecasting, cash flow projections and commercial reporting
- Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients
- Ensure commercial compliance with contract requirements and company procedures
