Senior Site Agent | Building Construction
Overview
The Senior Site Agent will be responsible for managing large-scale building projects from inception through to successful completion. This role requires a results-driven construction professional who can ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong client relationships and commercial performance.
Requirements
- BSc or BEng in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
- Minimum 10 years' experience within the building construction industry
- Proven experience managing large and complex construction projects
- Strong contract administration and commercial management experience
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Strong understanding of South African construction legislation, contractual frameworks, and health and safety requirements
Responsibilities
- Lead the successful delivery of large and complex building construction projects
- Manage all site operations, ensuring programme, quality, cost, and safety objectives are achieved
- Oversee contract administration and ensure contractual obligations are met
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Lead negotiations relating to contract variations, claims, and dispute resolution
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams
- Ensure construction activities comply with project specifications, drawings, and industry standards
- Identify and resolve complex technical and construction-related challenges
- Implement innovative construction methods to improve project efficiency and quality
- Monitor project budgets, forecasting, and financial performance
- Lead site resource planning and allocation
- Ensure compliance with SHEQ policies, legislation, and company procedures
- Develop and implement project-specific safety management plans
- Conduct site inspections and proactively manage project risks
- Mentor and lead site personnel, promoting continuous improvement and professional development
- Prepare progress reports and communicate project performance to senior management
