Overview

A reputable industrial company is seeking an experienced SHEQ Manager to join their team in Muizenberg, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining integrated Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality systems across the organization, ensuring compliance and driving a strong SHEQ culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or suitable Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Quality Management, Engineering or a related field
  • 5–8 years' experience in health and safety management, with 3–5 years' experience managing ISO management systems
  • Proven experience implementing and maintaining integrated SHEQ systems
  • Experience within a manufacturing, industrial or operations-intensive environment is advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001, health and safety legislation, risk assessment and internal auditing
  • ISO Lead Auditor certifications and NEBOSH or equivalent qualifications are advantageous
  • Strong analytical, organisational, communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and SHEQ management software
  • Valid Code 8 (B) driver's licence and own reliable vehicle essential

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain integrated SHEQ systems in line with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 requirements
  • Conduct risk assessments, inspections, audits and incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Develop and implement health, safety, environmental and quality policies, procedures and work instructions
  • Monitor environmental compliance, waste management, emissions, resource conservation and environmental performance
  • Oversee quality assurance, quality control, supplier quality, customer complaints and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate internal and external ISO certification audits and ensure audit findings and corrective actions are addressed
  • Develop and deliver SHEQ training, inductions and awareness programmes while maintaining competency and training records
  • Report on SHEQ performance, KPIs, compliance and improvement initiatives to senior management and engage with relevant stakeholders
