Overview
The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to provide comprehensive veterinary services, including animal diseases control, Import and Export Policy & Control, epidemiology, quarantine, veterinary public health, animal welfare, animal health, laboratory, clinical services; stock remedies/ animal feeds.
Requirements
- NQF level 8 BVMch/BVSc as recognised by the South African Veterinary Council
- Compulsory registration with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC)
- A minimum of 1 year post qualification experience
- A valid (Code EB or higher) driving license
Responsibilities
- Provide Animal Health services
- Provide training and awareness programs (veterinary extension services) to communities with regard to Animal Health
- Render a Veterinary Laboratory Diagnostic and Epidemiology Service
- Render a Veterinary Public Health service
- Render an animal disease surveillance service
- Implement contingency plans and conduct risk assessments for the mitigation of outbreak of diseases
- Perform all administrative and related functions
