Overview
The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to monitor and control abattoirs in the Western Cape Province to ensure compliance with the Meat Safety Act, (Act No. 40 of 2000).
Requirements
- Relevant National Diploma in Environmental Health/ Animal Health/ Veterinary Public Health at NQF level 6 as recognised by SAQA
- A minimum of 1 year relevant experience
- A valid code B (or higher) driving licence
Responsibilities
- Inspect abattoirs for compliance with Meat Safety legislation
- Audit abattoirs for compliance with Meat Safety legislation
- Perform general functions required by the Meat Safety legislation
- Contribute to meat safety in the province
