Overview

A reputable consulting engineering firm is seeking a Structural Draughtsman / Technician to join its Durbanville office on a permanent basis. This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with structural drafting experience to work on a diverse range of residential, commercial, industrial, and educational building projects while contributing to high-quality structural designs and drawings from concept through to construction.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years' experience in structural drafting
  • Proven experience working on building structures
  • Proficiency in preparing structural drawings using both 2D and 3D software
  • Good understanding of structural engineering principles and construction methods
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and building codes
  • Site experience will be advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate 2D and 3D structural drawings and models
  • Develop conceptual layouts for structural projects
  • Manage drawing production, revisions, and document control
  • Ensure drawings are issued accurately and within project deadlines
  • Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and dimensions
  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, and other project stakeholders
  • Perform ad hoc site inspections and prepare technical reports
  • Assist in delivering project requirements while maintaining quality and compliance
  • Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards and project specifications
