A reputable consulting engineering firm is seeking a Structural Draughtsman / Technician to join its Durbanville office on a permanent basis. This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with structural drafting experience to work on a diverse range of residential, commercial, industrial, and educational building projects while contributing to high-quality structural designs and drawings from concept through to construction.
Requirements
- 3–5 years' experience in structural drafting
- Proven experience working on building structures
- Proficiency in preparing structural drawings using both 2D and 3D software
- Good understanding of structural engineering principles and construction methods
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and building codes
- Site experience will be advantageous
Responsibilities
- Produce accurate 2D and 3D structural drawings and models
- Develop conceptual layouts for structural projects
- Manage drawing production, revisions, and document control
- Ensure drawings are issued accurately and within project deadlines
- Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and dimensions
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, and other project stakeholders
- Perform ad hoc site inspections and prepare technical reports
- Assist in delivering project requirements while maintaining quality and compliance
- Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards and project specifications
