Overview
RPO Recruitment is seeking an experienced Structural Technologist/Designer to join a well-established consulting engineering firm in Pretoria, Gauteng. The role involves preparing and developing structural designs, models, and detailed construction documentation, while ensuring compliance with project requirements and standards.
Requirements
- BTech in Civil/Structural Engineering or an equivalent qualification
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in structural engineering design within a consulting engineering environment
- Solid knowledge of structural design principles and detailing for a range of building projects
- Proficiency in relevant structural design and drafting software
- Ability to produce accurate technical drawings, models, and construction documentation
- Strong understanding of applicable South African codes and standards
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Prepare and develop structural designs, models and detailed construction documentation
- Coordinate structural designs with engineers, architects and other project stakeholders
- Ensure all deliverables comply with project requirements, applicable standards and quality procedures
- Assist with the review and coordination of project documentation throughout the design process
- Provide technical support during project planning and execution
- Contribute to the successful delivery of projects within agreed timelines and budgets
