Overview
The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to render an advanced Animal Health Regulatory Support Service in terms of the Animal Health Diseases Act (Act 35/1984).
Requirements
- An appropriate National Diploma in Animal Health as recognized by SAQA
- A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience (post-qualification experience)
- Valid registration with South African Veterinary Council
- A valid Code EB driving licence
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement disease control measures
- Render a support service to the State Veterinarian with regard to animal disease control, reproduction and production advancement, sample collection and law enforcement
- Provide extension services on animal health to animal owners
- Perform administrative and related functions
