Overview

Fedics is in search for a Wardhostess who works individually on patient wards, serving meals and snacks in a busy environment.

Requirements

• Matric
• Previous experience in a hospital environment would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patients have access to fresh ice water at all times.
• Keep hot beverage urns filled and operational throughout service hours.
• Serve tea, coffee, and approved snack alternatives to patients as required.
• Accurately complete menu cards according to each patient's meal preferences.
• Return completed menu cards to the kitchen promptly.
• Update patient diet lists prior to each meal service.
• Communicate dietary changes or special requirements to relevant personnel.
• Transport meal trolleys between the kitchen and wards safely and timely.
• Verify that all meal trays are complete before serving.
• Serve patient meals on trays and remove trays promptly after meals.
• Ensure all cutlery is washed, cleaned, and accounted for after each meal service.
• Maintain responsibility and control of ward cutlery.
• Keep the ward kitchen clean, organised, and hygienic.
• Remove used trays immediately after meals.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to grooming standards.
• Provide additional services to private patients as required.
