Overview
The CASP Graduate program aims to properly place unemployed graduates with agriculture-related qualifications in relevant farms or enterprises within the agriculture value chain. This initiative seeks to reduce the unemployment rate among the youth in the Western Cape by providing participants with practical, hands-on experience and linking them with potential entities that support entrepreneur development.
Requirements
- An appropriate 3-year National Diploma or higher qualification in Agriculture (Animal Production)
- Desire for practical work experience
- South African citizen residing in the Western Cape
- Unemployed graduate between the ages of 18-35 years or 36-45 years
- Persons with a disability are encouraged to apply
- First-time applicants for an internship/developmental programme in government
Responsibilities
- On-the-job training provided in the Agriculture department
- Acquiring skills and work experience to enhance marketability to future employers
- Gaining contactable references for CVs
- Exposure to career awareness to assist in informed career choices
