Chief Director: Municipal Performance Monitoring and Support
Overview
The Western Cape Government is looking to employ a dynamic, high performing individual to monitor the overall efficiency of municipalities and provide support to improve service delivery.
Requirements
- A qualification at NQF 7 level, as recognised by SAQA
- 5 years’ experience at senior managerial level
Responsibilities
- Strategic Management at a senior management level
- Provide management and support services to local government within the regulatory framework including the development of Local Government legislation
- Municipal governance
- Formal and informal interventions as well as investigations in terms of the Municipal Systems Act and Western Cape Monitoring and Support of Municipalities Act
- Monitoring and evaluation municipal performance in line with the legislative requirements
- Facilitating and monitoring infrastructure development within municipalities to ensure sustainable municipal infrastructure
- Capacitating municipalities by providing support and capacity building initiatives
- People and Financial Management
