Overview
The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to perform and manage quantity survey cost estimates for building projects, structures and facilities and provide strategic direction in the process.
Requirements
- An appropriate B-Degree in Quantity Survey or relevant qualification
- A minimum of six years post qualification quantity survey experience required
- Compulsory registration with South African Council of Quantity Surveying Professionals (SACQSP) as a professional Quantity Surveyor
- A valid code B driving licence
Responsibilities
- Perform final review and approvals or audits on quantity survey procedures
- Coordinate quantity surveying efforts and integration across disciplines
- Manage the execution of quantity surveying strategy
- Set quantity survey standards, specifications and service levels
- Monitor quantity survey efficiencies according to organisational goals
- Ensure the availability and management of funds to meet MTEF objectives
- Manage the operational capital project portfolio
- Allocate, monitor and control expenditure according to budget
- Compile risk logs and manage significant risk
- Manage and implement knowledge sharing initiatives
- Manage the development, motivation and utilisation of human resources
- Set and monitor performance standards for subordinates
