Overview

We are seeking an Employee Benefits Consultant to join our Umbrella Funds team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting a portfolio of retirement fund clients by providing professional advice, delivering exceptional service, and ensuring that clients' employee benefit arrangements remain effective, compliant, and aligned with their objectives.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce, Investments, Employee Benefits, or a related field.
  • RE5 qualification (completed).
  • 3 to 7 years' experience in employee benefits, retirement fund consulting, umbrella funds, or a related environment.
  • Sound knowledge of retirement fund legislation, employee benefits products, and governance requirements.
  • Strong client relationship management and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of retirement fund and employee benefits clients.
  • Deliver proactive consulting and support to clients, ensuring their employee benefit arrangements remain appropriate and compliant.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Management Committee (MANCO) meetings, including preparing agendas, compiling meeting packs, taking minutes, and following up on agreed actions.
  • Monitor legislative, regulatory, and industry developments and communicate the impact of these changes to clients.
  • Assist clients with the implementation of benefit structures, amendments, and governance requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve client servicing efficiencies through effective processes and data-driven solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, insurers, administrators, and other service providers to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Support client retention through excellent service, technical expertise, and responsiveness to client needs.
  • Contribute to achieving departmental growth and profitability objectives.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues where appropriate and participate in team knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Contribute to internal projects, committees, and thought leadership activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, internal policies, and governance standards.
