Site Agent
Overview
Oversee construction, renovation and small works projects across three facilities, providing engineering and civil input on building concept plans for other Faircape facilities.
Requirements
- National Diploma or degree in Building, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field (essential)
- Trade qualification in building, carpentry or civil works (advantageous)
- SACPCMP registration, or eligibility for registration, as a Construction Manager or Site Agent (advantageous)
- Proven experience managing construction sites, refurbishments or small works projects from start to finish
- Strong practical knowledge of building methods, site setup, sequencing and setting out new works
- Ability to read and provide input on construction drawings, specifications and building concept plans
- Sound understanding of civil works, building infrastructure and Occupational Health and Safety requirements
- Experience managing subcontractors, procurement, site records and progress reporting
- Strong organisational, problem-solving and leadership skills
- Experience in residential, healthcare or commercial environments will be advantageous
- Own reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s licence
- Willingness to travel between Onrus Manor and the Somerset West facilities as required
- Two positive written references
- Clear health, credit and criminal records
Responsibilities
- Oversee construction, refurbishment and small works across residential units, healthcare centres and clubhouses
- Manage daily site operations at Onrus Manor and oversee construction progress at Heritage Manor and Bridgewater Manor
- Provide civil, engineering and infrastructure input on building concept plans for other Faircape facilities
- Plan work schedules, coordinate resources and track progress against project milestones
- Coordinate Site Foremen, site teams and subcontractors, providing practical guidance where needed
- Inspect work against drawings, specifications and Faircape’s quality standards
- Identify delays, risks and budget variances early, and take corrective action
- Coordinate the timely ordering and delivery of materials, tools and plant
- Enforce Occupational Health and Safety requirements, including site inductions, safety files and valid certifications
- Ensure plant and equipment are maintained and certified
- Provide weekly and monthly progress reports, supported by photos and schedules
- Complete final quality checks and oversee handovers, including the resolution of snags and defects
