The Store Manager is responsible for ensuring the profitability and growth of the store by managing costs and maximizing sales turnover. This includes planning and budgeting in conjunction with executive management, overseeing procurement and stock control, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and monitoring financial practices. The role requires a strong focus on customer service, effective operations management, and the ability to analyze operational data to drive improvements.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Preferably a commerce bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Preferably Financial or Management diploma
- 5-10 years retail experience
- Minimum of 3 years in a junior-mid level management position
- Previous industry related experience
- Financial acumen
- Inwards and Outwards Logistics/Procurement skills
- Merchandising principles
- Preferably have knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act
Responsibilities
- Manage profitability through cost management and sales maximization
- Collaborate with executives to create an operating plan
- Oversee procurement, stock control and merchandising to ensure smooth logistics
- Maintain optimal stock levels and control stock losses
- Compile and adhere to the store budget
- Handle customer complaints and coordinate promotions and public relations
- Accountable for day-to-day operations and overall branch management
- Analyze operational information for problem diagnosis and success enhancement
