Overview
Plan and implement disease control measures. Render a support service to the State Veterinarian with regard to animal disease control, reproduction and production advancement, sample collection and law enforcement.
Requirements
- An appropriate National Diploma in Animal Health as recognized by SAQA
- A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience (post -qualification experience)
- Valid registration with South African Veterinary Council
- A valid Code EB driving licence
- Competencies: Working knowledge of the following: Extensive fieldwork under varying environmental conditions
- exposure to infectious diseases and biohazards
- Physical mobility and ability to handle animals
- Skills in the following: Communication skills (written and verbal )
- Investigation skills
- Report writing
- Analytical skills
- Interpretation skills
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement disease control measures
- Render a support service to the State Veterinarian with regard to animal disease control, reproduction and production advancement, sample collection and law enforcement
- Provide extension services on animal hea lth to animal owners
- Perform administrative and related functions
