All Job Market Insights →

SpanSam counts a configured skill only when its signal appears in a vacancy's structured Requirements. Responsibilities, employer descriptions, related jobs and promotional copy do not contribute to these counts.

Missing Requirements are treated as unknown, not as proof that a skill is unnecessary. Percentages on this page therefore use vacancies with usable Requirements as the denominator unless stated otherwise.

Methodology and limits

This report analyses current deduplicated opportunities indexed by SpanSam. It describes SpanSam's inventory and is not a complete census of every vacancy or skill requested in South Africa.

The configured taxonomy currently tracks 25 skill signals. A count means the configured term or pattern was observed in structured Requirements; it does not imply every employer uses identical wording, and skills outside the configured taxonomy are not counted yet.

Career-specific profiles are quality-gated by sample size and Requirements coverage. Public/non-public comparisons use only classified vacancies with usable Requirements. Historical movement is published only when an appropriate prior daily snapshot exists.

Current data quality: 1281 of 1389 current opportunities (92%) contain usable structured Requirements.
