Overview
Shoprite is seeking a skilled Trainer to design and deliver targeted training programs across classroom, workplace, and on-the-job settings, enhancing employee capabilities and operational efficiency within retail and support environments. This role demands expertise in instructional design, performance assessment, and stakeholder collaboration to implement effective learning interventions aligned with business standards.
Requirements
- Grade 12/Matric/Equivalent - essential
- Diploma in Training and Development, Human Resources, Occupationally Directed Education Training and Development Practices, or related field – essential
- 2–4 years’ experience in training, facilitation, coaching, operational learning or workplace skills development – essential
- Experience delivering classroom, workplace or on-the-job training to adult learners – essential
- Experience with training planning, learner administration, assessments, reporting and stakeholder feedback – essential
- Exposure to Deli, bakery or food service operations, including food preparation, recipe adherence, hygiene, food safety, customer service, product quality, equipment use and operational standards in a store environment
Responsibilities
- Prepares, facilitates, assesses and evaluates learning in a clear, practical and engaging manner
- Communicates clearly, listens actively and adapts style to suit different learner groups
- Plans training activities, manages logistics and follows through on commitments
- Applies practical business, process and workplace knowledge to support relevant learning outcomes
- Provides constructive feedback, reinforces learning and supports confidence-building in the workplace
- Promotes consistent adherence to standards, policies, safety requirements and governance expectations
- Builds effective working relationships with learners, operations, People teams and Learning and Development stakeholders
- Adjusts approach in response to learner needs, operational realities and changing business priorities
- Takes ownership of training delivery, administration and stakeholder feedback
