Overview
The Technical Instructor (Mechanical) at FlySafair will be responsible for providing expert guidance in developing training programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining high standards of training material in alignment with company policies and industry best practices. This role involves facilitating training sessions in various formats, coaching trainees, and collaborating with management to address educational needs.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or Equivalent (Essential)
- A valid AME Instructor licence (Essential)
- Current SACAA instructor & assessor (Essential)
- Successful completion of Train the Trainer, Assessor, Moderator and Coaching and Mentoring certifications (Essential)
- Diploma/ Degree in Engineering or related qualification (Advantageous)
- 5 years of Maintenance experience in mid-size organisation (Essential)
- Willing to travel
- Sound knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook (Essential)
- Knowledge of SACAA regulations, and company policies (Essential)
Responsibilities
- Provide input into the training manual, MTPM, SOPs and policies
- Stay current with relevant regulations, notices, directives, SOPs and policies
- Provide expert advice to assist with the design of training programmes
- Support with the development of high standards of training material
- Maintain an understanding of new educational and training techniques and methods
- Review training feedback and identify changes to improve the delivery/material
- Assist with the development of safety and emergency procedures
- Check training equipment and facilities for compliance
- Prepare training rooms and ensure availability of training materials
- Facilitate training sessions in the classroom, on the job and virtually
- Assess, monitor, coach, and provide feedback to trainees
- Complete and distribute training documents and records
- Report deficiencies or discrepancies in training delivery to management
- Collaborate with managers to address learning challenges and new educational needs
- Proactively communicate changes to stakeholders
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and suppliers to maintain relationships
- Support management with audit preparations and engagements
